I am Ellen DeMartini, the 3rd grade teacher at OLMC! Growing up not too far from OLMC, I also attended Catholic schools from Kindergarten through high school. My favorite thing about attending and working at a Catholic school, especially Mount Carmel, is the strong sense of community I see each and every day from our students, staff, and families.
In my classroom, I strive to make students feel safe, loved, seen, and excited to learn when they come to school each and every day. My favorite curriculum to teach in third grade is ELA, especially when we dive into classic children’s books with novel studies. It is amazing to see how excited students get over a good book, asking to read, “Just one more chapter?!” at the end of a school day.
I am forever thankful for the home that OLMC has given me, from working as an aide, to being a homeroom teacher. This is the place to be!
