Get Involved
At Mount Carmel School our children actively participate in a year-long community outreach program. As parents, we also demonstrate that we’re part of a greater educational, religious, and social community through our commitment to service to the school.
Children whose parents are actively involved in school do better academically and socially. Children love seeing their parents here during the school day, or knowing that they are contributing their time to the school community. There are many opportunities available; day, night, on or off campus.

All volunteers must complete the Virtus Online Training. Once you have completed the training, print your certificate and bring a copy into the office.
Submit your hours on your FACTS Family Portal account as you complete them. Remember that you must complete all hours by the last day of school of each year. The exception is for hours performed during the summer which may be credited to either the school year just finished or the one coming up. Auction hours (2) and Festival Hours (9) are required as part of your volunteer commitment.
Where to Start
Your room parent
Each class sponsors a number of activities each year, and volunteers are always needed. Your room parent coordinates volunteers for these events and needs your help.
The weekly eNewsletter (Wednesdays during school year)
Look for the section titled “Contributed Service Hours”. Calls for volunteers are always posted here for a wide variety of jobs to be done.
Our two biggest fundraisers; the Auction and Festival do require hours to be contributed by each family to help make them successful. These will also be announced in the eNews.
